A face behind loose strands of pale blond hair, grey and bone throughout. One eye finds you through the hair; the other stays covered. Copper marks the brows and again at the mouth.
The price includes insured delivery worldwide, shipped with all duties and taxes paid. Nothing further is due on arrival. The certificate of authenticity accompanies the work.
About the Artist
Annette von Malmborg received her artistic education at art schools in Paris and London, where she developed advanced painting techniques, including the traditional process of creating oil paint from pigment powder.
Born in Uppsala in 1969, into a Swedish family of draughtsmen and painters whose name traces back to Otto von Malmborg, she has lived and worked in Paris since 1993.
She paints portraits that never quite resolve into likeness. A face is begun, buried and recovered, until what remains is less a person than the weather a person leaves behind. She works slowly and only in oil, and the gold that recurs through the work is gold pigment laid into wet paint by hand.
This selection presents eleven oil paintings on linen canvas, created with a palette knife between 2004 and 2005.

Availability
Works are released individually. Some can be bought here; the rest are in private collections or released on request. Each carries its status beneath it.
Payment
Checkout is handled by Stripe. Card details never reach this site. The full amount, including delivery and any tax, is shown before you pay.
Delivery
Professionally packed, insured and tracked. International orders ship Delivery Duty Paid, so nothing further is payable on arrival.
Authenticity
Signed on the front, with a certificate signed by the artist recording reference, year, dimensions and materials.

- After a purchase
- The studio writes to you within one working day to confirm the sale and agree the address. The work is withdrawn from the catalogue at once.
- From the studio
- Every work is packed by the artist and travels with a short note written for its buyer. These are not editions. Each canvas was painted once.
- Delivery
- Delivery is included in the price. Every work ships Delivery Duty Paid: insured transport, import duties, local taxes and customs clearance are all covered, and nothing further is payable on arrival. Tracking follows by email on dispatch. Times vary with destination and customs. Write to the studio if your country is not offered at checkout.
- On arrival
- Photograph the crate before opening and unpack within forty-eight hours. If anything is damaged in transit, send those photographs and the claim is handled for you.
- Provenance
- The studio keeps a record of every work and its owner, and can supply provenance confirmation on request.
- Returns
- Consumers in the EU and UK may withdraw within fourteen days of delivery, in writing. The work returns in its original crate at your cost and risk; the full price, including original delivery, is refunded within fourteen days of its safe arrival. Commissions are excluded.
- Copyright
- Buying a painting transfers the physical work only. Reproduction rights, the droit d’auteur, remain with the artist. All images © Annette von Malmborg.
- Privacy
- The enquiry form collects a name, an email address and a message, used only to reply. Nothing is sold or shared. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe. Write to the studio to have your correspondence deleted.
- Governing law
- Sales are governed by French law. As a consumer this does not remove the protections of your own country of residence. EU residents may also use the European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform.
